Hotel Jefferson The Jefferson Arms building was originally a 400-room hotel built to accommodate visitors to the 1904 World's Fair. For decades, the hotel has played host to a who's who list of visitors to St. Louis, including President Harry S. Truman. The 1916 Democratic National Convention also was held at the building. This means it is 5 star and VERY expensive. |

Laclede's Landing Located just north of the Eads Bridge on the Mississippi Riverfront, the Landing is a multi-block collection of cobblestone streets and vintage brick-and-cast-iron warehouses. Heavily industrial, the Landing houses companies producing coffee, leather goods, mattresses, tobacco, whiskey, candy, and machinery for the barges on the Mississippi. There are also many quaint coffee shops and distinctive restaurants. One of the warehouses here is said to be the meeting place of the Still Water gang. |
