Suspect: HEATLEY, EDWARD EUGENE
WARNING: This suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
WARNING: This suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Basic Stats:
Name: Edward “The Executioner” Eugene Heatley
Known Aliases: Edward Johns
Gender: Male
Age: 20 July, 1903. 23 years of age.
Ethnicity:Caucasian (Irish/Cajun)
Nationality:Cajun-American
Physical Description:
Mug shot: Jensen Ackles
Height: 6’2”
Build: Lean, on the verge of muscular.
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Green with an underlying tone of brown that comes out in certain lights.
Known Disguises:
Edward dresses smart all the time. He can never be seen out in public in anything other than a smart suit. He is a huge lover of Fedora hats and zoot suits, especially when he’s working. Depending on the weather he can sometimes be seen in a long, knee length black trenchcoat.
Distinguishing Marks:
Most people notice Ed’s tough exterior and almost never smiling face when they first meet him. In fact he’s even a little intimidating to approach at first but where he works it’s necessary. He seems quiet and humourless but that’s just what he shows on the outside. Edward also looks a bit older than he is.
Edward has a rather large, straight scar, it’s about 2cm wide and runs 10cm diagonally up one side of his back, as well as a few other littler ones scattered all over his body. He got it when he was playing around an old industrial site with some of his friends when he was a kid. One of the other boys got angry with him and pushed Edward when he was off guard, sending him falling backwards. His back collided with the metal side railing of a walkway and a piece of exposed metal cut him as he fell.
He covers all the scars he can to avoid the awkward questions about them. When people do see the bigger ones he likes to tell people he got them in a fight.
One more substantial thing about Edward is the he is Bow Legged. This means that he has legs that curve outwards around the knee area. This condition subtracts from his height and makes his stance look a little odd.
Psychological Report:
Self Image:
After a lot of internal struggle and self-loathing Edward has come to be happy with the person he has grown into. Part of this is due to Cassie, she makes him feel that he's not a worthless member of society, that he has something to live for. He now accepts that he's a killer but not a monster.
To the Outward Eye:
To the outward eye Edward is very broody and standoffish. When he first meets someone he goes quiet, sussing the other out to decide whether they’re worth his time, a potential friend, enemy or target. Once that stage has been gotten past he’s very different. He’s loud, talkative and full of jokes. But this side of Ed only comes out around close friends and when he’s not at work.
Social Status:
Edward isn’t the most popular guy around because of his ‘profession’. He has a fierce reputation as a cold-hearted killer and nothing more which is far from the truth. A lot of people avoid him because of this reputation so he only has a handful of close friends who know the real him.
Religion: Roman Catholic
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Fears:
His personal life and his professional life colliding resulting in Cassie getting hurt or killed (he’s thought about it a lot), heights, prison, Silas. Yes he fears Silas, who doesn’t?
Quirks/Habits:
- Ice chewer.
- Taps and hums when nervous.
- Has a habit of tapping his nose every now and then when he’s thinking.
- Whenever he has a pencil in his hand he has to draw.
- Always puts his car and house keys in his left trouser pocket.
- Sleeps on his front.
- Shakes more than others when cold.
- Bites his lip when looking at something or thinking what to say.
- Chews his nails.
- Has a habit of hording things and hiding them away, especially money.
Likes:
Rowdy, without that dog Edward would be lost.
Radio, it’s useful and entertaining at the same time.
Food, to Edward food is love.
Knick Knacks, anything that Edward thinks looks cool but creepy he collects.
Playing cards, it’s fun and a good way to get money, even though he’s not good at it.
The Colour Blue, it is seriously the best colour ever, all shades of it rock.
Cassandra Sanford, the one constant in his life (apart from Rowdy). He loves her and prays constantly that she doesn’t get caught up in the violence that is his other life.
Horses, they have more personality than cars. Any chance he can get he drives to the country to ride.
Jazz music, catchy tunes.
Dancing, it's a Cajun thing.
His job, yes it’s dangerous and messy and complicated but he actually likes it. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be doing it.
Alcohol, there’s nothing like downing some shots of whiskey or bourbon after a long day.
Dislikes:
Cats, Ed’s more of a dog person, plus their eyes creep him out.
Thieves, only he can steal off people, no one else.
Cross Dressers and Girly Guys, men are supposed to be manly, it’s the way things should be.
His Dad, He don’t like Edward and Edward don’t like him (see history).
People Touching His Stuff, what’s Ed’s is Ed’s, no one else’s.
The Cold, he cannot stand being cold at all. He’ll brave it when he has to but he hates it.
Laundry, it’s a pain, especially when it comes to getting out all those nasty blood stains
Faulty Guns and Rusty Equipment, they make taking lives that much more difficult.
Detailed Report:
Edward is like two different people. Outside of work, home and in the company of friends he is just like any other man his age. He’s talkative, full of jokes and an all around nice guy. But when Edward goes to work a whole new side of him comes out. He’s quiet, cold and remorseless all traits someone in his profession should have. People from his everyday life wouldn’t recognise him if they saw him working.
He’s what people call ‘compartmentalised’. This means he can separate his two identities rather well.
Edward is someone who is very protective of the ones who are closest tome him. He wouldn’t hesitate to lay down his life if something threatens someone he loves. He is someone who is ambitious when it comes to meeting his goals and providing for the people in his life. Though mostly level headed he can be a little immature at times, having a habit of acting like a petulant child at times especially when dealing with Silas. His main plan of verbal attack is a crude retort and to mope. When crossed, Edward is also very unforgiving. Forgiveness from his has to be earned and even then there’s not a good chance it will be re-given.

Although rough, his hands have a gentle touch and he can do all sorts of things with them in the bedroom. Apart from that important aspect Edward’s hands are good for carving things, cleaning and dealing cards.
Ed is also a gifted liar and manipulator. He uses said gifts to scam money off of people in card games.
A relatively secret and large skill of Edward's is that he is a fantastic cook. His aforementioned love of food of all kinds has contributed to the development of his cooking skills. Once in the kitchen he will cook up a storm, there is hardly anything Ed can't cook and he loves doing it.

Pets:
A black Labardor puppy called Rowdy. He is about 9 weeks old and the most awesome thing in Ed’s life right now. The man never goes anywhere without the little bundle of a dog and spoils it something shocking. Rowdy is extremely boisterous, like all puppies, and is also very friendly to everyone he meets. To him Edward is the alpha dog and mum all rolled into one and will grow up extremely loyal to the man. Right now all the time is play time unless it’s dinner time and everyone’s a friend.
Past Offences:
Birth Place: Belle Chasse, Louisiana
History:
Edward was the product of the love between Irish immigrant Connor Heatley and Cajun faith-healer Marie Roe. At first their relationship was rocky and unsteady with the two of them coming from such different backgrounds plus there was the pressure of Marie being a Traiteur. She was one of the most important members of her Cajun parish and it was expected she marry into another Cajun family from another Parish but before she could be matched up to anyone she met Connor Heatley and the two fell in love. Disregarding strong opposition from Marie’s family, the two wed and almost a year later Edward was born.
Not long after, the small family moved themselves up the Mississippi to St. Louis, Missouri. There they settled into Dogtown and a lower class life. Although practically penniless Edward grew up happy and content. He learnt to speak both English and fluent Cajun-French and rode horses for a local stud but his mother deemed he would not have her gift passed onto him, instead electing to pass her knowledge of healing onto Edward’s brother Adam. This caused a little conflict between the two eldest because Ed believed he should have been taught the ways of the Traiteurs because he was the eldest but as Adam and Edward grew apart Bobby and Edward grew closer.
At school Ed was stuck in a class where the teachers were either terrible or never there. Because of his class his education suffered but he persevered and came out of school able to read, write and do math adequately. His aim was to become a fireman but it all changed because of Bobby. The youngest boy had been getting involved in the growing illegal liquor trade and an Irish gang called The Still Water Gang. Caught up in a shootout while on a job for the gang, Bobby was killed.
Devastated and angry at his brother’s senseless death Edward went after his killers. When he found them he tore them apart with a meathook that he’d found and unwittingly finishing what Bobby had been sent to do as the gang’s makeshift hitman. His actions were not without consequence and Ed was brought before the leader of the Still Water Gang, Silas Moran. As it turned out Ed had shown talent as a proficient killer and Silas had recognised this. Edward was told that he had to work off the debt his brother owed to the gang and that he had to do it in his brother’s old job.
From then on Edward became the gang’s hitman and he found he liked it. He worked his way up through the ranks rather quickly to end up being Silas’ personal bodyguard and assassin. His sudden change of career path from fireman to God knows what didn’t go unnoticed by his family, specifically his father. Constantly Connor would berate his son and demand to know what he did for a living. After awhile the fights escalated to becoming violent which caused grief for Marie and little Shannon. Unable to deal with the constant confrontations, Edward moved out of his childhood home when he was nineteen, opting to live in one of Silas’ speakeasies without his knowledge for awhile.
Somewhere in amongst all the gang violence and father troubles Edward met a girl called Cassandra, or Cassie, Sanford from New York. Instantly there was attraction between the two, even under the circumstances the two met, but whenever they saw each other they usually ended up paying each other out like little children but the teasing soon turned to dating and they’ve been together ever since.
RP Sample:
Fuming, that’s what he was, absolutely fuming. Well Edward Johns was that and hurt, betrayed, sad, angry, emotionally drained, betrayed, down in the dumps, betrayed, used and most of all just plain fuming. Of course Silas had had a right old laugh when he’d told Ed, well he hadn't told him directly but he'd figured it out. Walked in on them half way through the act he’d practically said.
Why had he trusted Cassie, why? How could he have been so stupid? Well now he was paying for his stupidity something shocking.
Never before had he’d left his feelings so exposed over a girl and look where it had gotten him. Ed huffed as he worked, cleaning a glass so hard he almost put a nice crack in it. He still couldn’t believe how stupid he’d been, how ignorant and naive he’d been. And of all the people that could have told him about Dacian and Cassie, round two, it had been Silas. How Silas had found out about Ed and Cassie in the first place was a mystery to the barkeep. He wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d been in on it too, after all he was the joke here. The one that Cassie and Dacian had decided it would be fun to mess with.
The whole ‘I love you too’ crap had been a lie, that much was obvious. She’d probably gone off and had a right old laugh about it with Dacian afterwards. Never, ever again did he want to see Cassandra fucking Vimes.
Edward Johns was a very bitter man at that point in time.
Angrily he threw down his dishcloth, needing a break. He stalked to the back storeroom, pulled up a crate and opened a bottle of whiskey, taking a generous swig from it. Setting the bottle aside, Ed placed his head in his hands, wanting nothing more than to smash as many of the bottles around him as he could. As much as he wanted to he couldn’t, just as much as he wanted to fight tooth and nail for Cassie, he was too much of a coward.
He ended up drinking half the bottle of whiskey before sullenly returning to the bar. Both Vivian and his newest vampiric guest, Lenora, were out somewhere and they’d taken Rowdy with them so it was just Ed and a handful of patrons. A girl about the same age as him walked in and instantly Edward was interested. The look on his face betrayed his plot for revenge. If he went ahead with what he was thinking he’d probably destroy all chances he had with Cassie but the alcohol clouded his judgement and he couldn’t care less.
“G’day, what can I getcha?” Ed said cheerily, a flirty smile lighting up his face. Already he'd gotten the girl a glass and his hand was reaching for the firewhiskey. He realised he'd seen her working in the Three Broomsticks and again his interest piqued. Why was she here? "Haven't I seen you in the Three Broomsticks?" no longer could the man maintain his curiosity and the question slipped out.
