He prefers the loose Oxford Bags over the tight and somewhat short older style of trousers. He has one long black overcoat that he will wear during the cooler months. Sam likes to wear a hat when he can and owns a paddy cap whenever it can be worn appropriately. He also wears thin metal glasses all the time, he is nearly blind without them and is near sighted. He prefers a bow tie over a neck tie. Unless there is a pressing need to wear the neck tie he will always choose the bow tie.
Distinguishing Marks: Aside from his cap and his glasses Sam has no real striking markings. He prefers himself that way so he can keep a low profile.
Psychological Report:
Self Image: Sam is a pacifistic socialist Russian and this has caused him a bit of grief. When Sam started to become who he is and learned the names of his political stances he felt somewhat ashamed of himself. He stuck out and didn't like it. Since his teen years he has come to terms with who he is and is secretly proud of himself. He knows that he is a caring person and doesn't feel that he deserves all the nasty talk that is said about people like him.
To the Outward Eye: Sam is the guy who sits back and enjoys others having fun. He is quiet and polite, he'll talk to someone if they talk to him but he doesn't seek out attention. He seems like a pleasant and normal guy. He has a sharp dislike of talking politics though. He is never in a poor mood and, while he isn't always smiling, he still manages to be cheery. He is easy going and kind hearted. He will associate with almost anyone and has a gentle way about him.
Social Status: While Sam is easy to get along with he doesn't have many friends. The friends he does have are very close to him though he doesn't tell them much about himself when it comes to politics or ethnicity. He doesn't actively seek out new friends though he isn't very aloof either.
Religion: Agnostic on good days
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Fears: Persecution, deportation, illness

-Absolutely refuses to talk politics
Likes:
-Dogs
-Friendly people
-Kids
-Chaplin, Keaton, and Lloyd films
-A good book
-Vaudeville
-Classic Music
Dislikes:
-Fundamentalists of any religion
-War
-People who want to know everything about him
-Snobs
-Xenophobics
Detailed Report: Sam is a caring fellow but he doesn't like people getting to close to him. He likes small talk and sees that as the best way to keep his friends. He doesn't want to draw too much attention to himself because he is rather liberal and knows that isn't a good thing in this world. He never talks about his parents, both are Russian immigrants, though he loves them deeply.
When in large groups Sam will sit off to the side. If someone approaches him he will smile and if they want to talk he'll talk. If not he'll read. He loves the movies and often will talk about those.
He never gets angry, at least he doesn't show it when he does. If he ever feels as if his anger is going to get the best of him he will simply leave a situation. He will never start a protest, even if he feels strongly on a matter, however he will join in once there are enough other people. While he is self confident he is also cautious. He is fearful of what would happen to him if someone where to investigate into his past.

Adolph
This Two and a half year old German Shepherd is Sam's best friend. He is playful and silly most of the time but is loyalty to Sam is clear. The dog adores his master and loves to lean against him. In fact if he had a choice in the matter he would go with Sam to work everyday. Occasionally Sam does smuggle him but he doesn't want to cause trouble. He listens to him well though he could care less about what strangers have to tell him. The dog clearly has Old German Lines, he is more darkly colored than many other shepherds in the US and has a straighter back. Overall Adolph is friendly to everyone who he doesn't see as a threat. So long as he stay calm and happy and don't make his master nervous he'll like you.
Past Offences:
Birth Place: St. Petersburg, Russia
History: In 1905 four year old Sam came over to America with his parents, Pavel and Tonia. They had felt that Russia was no longer a safe place and had quickly fled the country. Sam remembers very little about his life in Russia or the trip over to America. That is a good thing too because his parents went from having a relatively easy life to the life of poor immigrants. Luckily for Sam, coming to America at such a young age made it possible for him to completely loose his accent.
The Trotskys quickly settled in Baltimore. There Sam attended school with other children like him, that is to say poor with foreign parents. It wasn't so bad at first, the other children had similar backgrounds. Eventually though he was transferred into classes with the native American born children. From there he was faced with teasing and was ostracized. He never understood why this was. He wasn't the only Russian in his school though and was able to play other the few other boys in his class.
Sam was almost 16 when the US joined in to the First World War. He didn't understand exactly what was going in that war, all he knew was what he read in the papers and that the US and Russia where on the same side. Or at least they where before something happened in Russia that made them stop their participation. The young man wanted to know all he could but he found it difficult to find out information about all the different aspects of the war. He had a particular interest in the Arab Revolt, he found that aspect of the war to be both exciting and exotic. However a little over a year later when the American soldiers came back Sam was ashamed that he had been so keenly interested in the war. He saw the ticks and shakes some of the men had developed and felt sorry for them.
Sam isn't exactly sure when he first began to develop his political stances but he thinks the end of the war was when it started. He learned about Communism in school and realized he didn't feel the same way about the ideas as his peers. He felt that some of the ideas where good. He didn't feel that pacifists where traitors and cowards, he felt that they simply didn't want to take lives. He never spoke up about his feelings though, he knew that his heritage and his ideas where things that didn't mix. He didn't want the friends to abandon him for his “Bolshevik” ideas.
Once he was out of school Sam felt as if he needed to leave his hometown. He randomly selected a place off the map and called it good. While he loved the city he felt that he needed a fresh start.

Pasha looked about him as he strolled through a more wooded area of the Rebel's Post. It was nice to be back after his long absents. Last time he had been in camp it had been cold, dreary, and bitter. He had hated going out into the biting wind and seeing all the snow that had fallen while he slept. Now it was nice, there seemed to be a hint of summer in the air now. There where flowers coming and flowers in bloom, the grass was a vivid green, even the scorched trees seemed to be coming back to life with little green leaves appearing on some of the branches.
Pasha had only recently gotten back from a trip that had taken him far from the camp. He had left shortly after his break up with Lita, Buru had gotten wind of a situation he thought needed to be watched. Almost without notice he had packed his things and Pasha's and the pair had left. Pasha didn't really mind at the time, it was a nice distraction and kept him from thinking about Lita. When the pair got to their temporary new home Pasha was put right to work for Buru. They had set up in a small town where slaves outnumbered humans two to one. Buru thought there might be an uprising of some sort. As far as Pasha knew there hadn't been. He didn't much care about though. A few weeks after they had moved there he had met a young lady about his age. She was a pretty little brunette with a curvy frame, she wasn't the brightest girl he had known but she was sweet. Unable to help himself Pasha had fallen for her and didn't do the best job hiding it. Buru ended up having to send him away for fear Pasha would blow his cover.
It was still early in the morning, not many people where up yet. Pasha had so far managed to avoid the few who where up as well. He still had his things, they where all in a small knapsack that hung over his should. He hadn't dared go and put them in a tent yet. He wondered what had happened since he left, something had to have happened in the many weeks he had been gone. The brown haired man couldn't help but wonder if anyone had wondered about his where abouts or if it was a well known fact about where he had gone. He was eager to meet up with some of the others, he wanted to talk to them and get settled back into his old home.
